These terms are an agreement between you and Maquette Labs, Inc., a Delaware (USA) corporation (“we”, “us”), covering the Thought apps and trythought.app (together, “Thought”). By creating an account or using Thought, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms.
You must be at least 18 years old. You must also not be barred from using US-based services under the laws of your country or under United States law, and you may not use Thought in or from any country or region subject to comprehensive US sanctions or where US law prohibits us from providing it.
Your account is tied to your phone number (or, for team accounts, an email address). Keep access to that number secure — anyone who can receive your sign-in codes can access your notes. Tell us immediately if you think your account has been compromised. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply to sign-in texts.
Your notes are yours. You retain all rights to the content you create in Thought. You give us only the license we need to operate the product: to store your content, sync it between your devices, process it with the AI features you invoke, and share it with the people you explicitly invite. That license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where copies must persist briefly in routine backups.
Mediator sessions record and transcribe everyone in the room. If you start a session, you are responsible for making sure every participant has consented to being recorded. Recording people without their consent is illegal in many jurisdictions. We show a recording notice before every session; obtaining actual consent from the people in the room is on you.
Thought uses AI models to rewrite, summarize, and converse about your notes. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or oddly confident. It is not professional advice — not legal, medical, financial, or otherwise. Review anything important before you rely on it.
Don't use Thought to break the law, to violate others' privacy or intellectual property, to harass or harm people, to probe or disrupt our systems, or to resell access. Don't try to circumvent usage limits. We may suspend or terminate accounts that do.
Paid plans are billed through your Apple account. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled in your App Store subscription settings; cancelling stops future renewals but does not refund the current period. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. Where your local consumer law gives you additional cancellation or refund rights, those rights are unaffected by this section.
Thought is a small product under active development. Features may change or be discontinued. We aim for reliability but do not promise uninterrupted service. You can export your notes at any time, and we encourage it.
You can stop using Thought and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the service — in which case we will give you reasonable notice and a chance to export your notes when we can.
Thought is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms or Thought is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers or liability limits; where the law gives you rights that cannot be waived, nothing here reduces them.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you use Thought as a consumer in a jurisdiction whose law gives you mandatory protections or a local forum, those protections and that forum remain available to you.
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app or by SMS/email before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Thought after that means you accept the new terms; if you don't, delete your account.
